As well as the mechanisms for adding tension, you will want to think about what other mechanisms your loom will have to make rug weaving faster or easier. These mechanisms include shed sticks, heddle rods, shafts and beaters. My rug looms have a shed stick and heddle rod, which helps raise and lower the alternating […]
Elsewhere in the UK you can find craft shops like George Weil, which stocks weaving supplies along with other crafts. We really recommend visiting a specialist store if you ever happen to be near one! It’s a great way to find out exactly what you need for the type of weaving that you want to […]
Downsizing is not a word most people want to hear when it comes to their small business. After all, our modern day consumer culture prioritises shiny and new, bigger and better, with the result that businesses large and small feel the pressure to be always growing. Scaling back and doing less sounds like an admission […]
December 30, 2020 Christabel Balfour Happy (almost) new year guys! I spent the Christmas period sleeping & eating & going on long walks. OnlyFans free accounts look simple from the outside: a price of $0, a follow button, and a feed. Evaluating a no-fee account before you follow is mostly cost forecasting. A free page earns through pay-per-view messages and tips, so the real question is not whether it costs money today, but how it plans to earn […]

Once you’re confident weaving on a simple upright loom, you could explore a more advanced loom. For tapestry or rug weaving, I recommend Mirrix looms. If you want to try weaving cloth, I recommend rigid heddle or table looms. All of these are compact looms don’t take up too much space, but they also allow […]
When I first set up Balfour & Co in Summer 2020, the world was a very different place.
